Who am I? To be honest with you, I don't fully know yet. It is difficult to put a work in progress into words.

So far, what I do know is that I am a fragmented spirit of energy—splintered from the source and set upon a soulful quest to enlighten myself along my journey back to the one.

It is my mission to find my deepest inner voice and by doing so, be able to enlighten others along the way. I speak my truth through music. It calls out to me.

I have always been very much into the music I listened to. I began my journey to make my own since I was a child. I am a fan of many of the flavors we have to choose from, but what touched me and never let go was underground dance music.

I was first bitten in Florida, summer 1992. I was blessed to be a part of an amazing moment in history as the culture exploded. I found my calling in March of 1995, when I got my first "wheels of steel."

I began DJ’ing under the name djpurplehaze. From 1995 to 2001, I had an amazing journey. I have traveled to many cities in the southeast and have rocked the floor with some of the best names in the business.

Everything was going the way I had planned and on the surface, the way I wanted. However, I let my ego creep in and steal the joy, and
I lost my way.

In 2001, I had an amazing child. Since I make most of my money in construction, I had to let the DJ’ing go, so I could focus on my baby—you never get back the early years.

I also knew that the time was right to step back and reconnect with my love for the music before I ruined it. I love to mix, and I love to make people dance. It is part of who I am, so I knew one day that the way would present itself.

On New Year’s Eve 2009, Horrible Children assisted me in continuing my journey after an 8-year break from playing publicly. I decided that if I were to start over, I would start fresh with a new name. Releasing all the labels I had placed on djpurplehaze, I chose to use my name to help remind me to hold on to the joy.

Technology has made the music cheaper and provided many tools to take mixing beyond where I ever thought possible. I no longer have to limit myself, and I now enjoy playing many styles of music.

My sets are mostly tailored to and inspired by the moment. All of my sets are high-energy, and I am constantly pushing myself to take it further, understanding more.
